Keys Color Study #1

March 3, 2011

I have been fascinated by the colors of the water here in the Florida Keys.  The shades of blue, aquamarine, and turquoise are exquisite.  Of course these rich colors inspire me to weave fabrics imitating the gorgeousness all around me.  So here is the latest off my loom in that attempt.

Woven in several types of cotton, with a few strands of alpaca-silk thrown in for fun, these scarves also explore “uneven denting”, as well as areas of warp that are left unwoven for a gauzy effect.  I have 2 of them for sale, for $75 each.  Contact me if interested!

My cat tried to help with these scarves, and  as cats are known to do, he did a good job putting himself right where I was trying to work!
